Industrial Medicine Program -

All of our EPA sites, Guelph, Acton, Hespeler, Georgetown, and Orangeville, offer industrial physiotherapy. This program begins with an expedient referral within 48 hours of the employees injury.

As part of our mission statement, all EPA clinics will go out of their way to ensure all necessary communication with the family doctor, employer contact and most importantly the injured worker.

Our exercise and manual therapy excellence extends to all injured workers. In addition, we will attempt to identify modified duties to encourage the worker to return to their previous level of function. This may include integrating a simulated work environment in the clinic. As with all our programs, our aim is to supply evidence based excellence in orthopaedic physiotherapy.

- Graduated conditioning and specific job simulated activities to full 8 hour shift progression
Industrial Priority Referral Service to Physiotherapy care:
- Physiotherapy assessment
- Physiotherapy treatment
Post-employment offer screening:
- Medical screening assessments done by a physiotherapist and a medical doctor to determine best job placements for individuals
- Workers Fitness testing
- Functional abilities testing
Comprehensive 2 Day Functional abilities testing:
- Functional testing carried out over 2 days to determine accurate functional testing for job placements
Educational Seminars:
- Preventative exercises for the manufacturing industry
- Reducing low back injuries
Physical Demands Analysis:
- Determination of the demands required for each job
Execu-check: Preventative screening for the executives of organization
- Fitness testing
- Medical screening
- Dietary screening
- Report including recommendations for fitness, diet and lifestyle changes
