MAINTAINING OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The first EPA site, which is located in the BullFrog Mall in Guelph, was established in 1997. Our mission statement was and is to provide excellence in orthopaedic physiotherapy.This mission has been maintained over the last ten years.

In order to achieve evidence based therapy, the physio staff at EPA participate in monthly rounds. Our clinic pioneered the idea of rounds in private practice and have developed a forum that allows physiotherapists to critically evaluate each other and the scientific literature. Many of our clinic programs such as the shoulder and neck programs have emerged from our rounds.

Our affiliation with the University of Guelph's Health and Performance Site (HPC) has allowed us to participate in formal research projects. Our shoulder program was found to have a 93% success rate for patient satisfaction over a three year period.  More recently, a project that evaluated muscle activity with both normal and deficient Anterior Cruciate Ligament Patients, offered our therapists some insightful information regarding muscle activation in those patients.
